Let’s Talk Workshop
Main Gallery, 4–5 pm:
Workshop run by Rachel Buch
"Do We CARE?" (Construction Work), 2017
For the exhibition Care and Constraint I would like to work collaboratively with workshop participants to build a soft sculpture. During the workshop there will be small activities designed to open up discussions on how women feel in professional fields and whether there are resonating concerns. Through these small activities, culminated together it will eventually resolve itself into one complete artwork which will be displayed at the end of the exhibition.
Main Gallery, 6–8 pm:
Workshop run by Elizabeth West
"The Nature of Nature: Effigy Weaving", 2017
Exploring the convergence of art practice and an emerging practice as an art therapist Elizabeth West will offer The Nature of Nurture: Effigy Weaving Workshop. The aim is to create a space to honour the carer within through creating effigies from natural materials. This workshop is intended to cultivate deeper awareness of the nature of nurture in various roles and as an offering
to ourselves through discussion and making.
Please bring a cup, a cushion, blanket, journal and foliage from your garden if you feel called to. Some natural materials, binding materials and tea will be provided. Instagram: @elizabethwestart
